TIERRA DEL NORTE MINUTES July 12, 2010 Meeting Called to Order: The meeting was called to order by President Darlene Hopkins at 6:23 pm Board Members Present: Darlene Hopkins, Cheryl Goodheim, Mimi Gaffey, Heidi Helly, Tim Zaleschuk, Lynn Rigney, Dave Murphy, Debra Montoya, Jennifer Bishop Absent: Majda Lightholder, Julie Brumback Guests: Debbie Zaleschuk, Guests from Vaqueros” Club Secretary’s Report: The minutes were approved with some slight changes regarding board attendance. Treasurer’s Report: The budget was filed for audit. Committee Reports: Lou Roper Clinic: Ads put in the Horse Trader (ran July 1 and 15), North County Times and Craig’s List. Marilyn volunteered to buy and coordinate food to create taco bar. Crock posts for pork (Debbie Z) and beef (Mimi) will also be brought. Noted that Marilyn needs a shopping list. Old Business: There was no old business New Business: Meeting Minutes: Debra Montoya suggested that the meeting minutes be shared with club members, it was agreed that Mimi would send them out in an eblast to members. Annie Award: Debra Montoya shared the background information on the Annie Award and noted that the award should also have a monogrammed day sheet provided in addition to the perpetual trophy. Mimi noted a day sheet would be ordered and provided to KC Gavin, this year’s Annie Award recipient. ACS November Show: The ACS Show November 14th needs a new rail judge because of conflicts with AHA Convention in Orlando, FL (starts Nov. 17). Mimi is working on identifying a trail judge. Breast Cancer Awareness month is the month of November and Purina will be sponsoring various pink items that can be feature at the show. One idea is to have show volunteers wear pink shirts to show their support of breast cancer. Debra will be checking with the Purina rep to see if Purina can make any donations regarding shirts etc. Web Site: Continues to be refreshed and looking great! Trail Ride: Dave Murphy reported a trail ride in Rancho Santa Fe was successful Reminder regarding the remaining club activities for the year 2010: Lou Roper Clinic, ACS Show and the Christmas Party. Also we need to think about Member of the Year Award, The Annie Award, and The Horse of the Year Award.
